I know it may sound weird, but it is a mandatory time for me to decompress, be outside (y’all, it’s almost December in Louisiana and look how I’m dressed!!!), chat with kids I teach and those I don’t, smile at parents, breathe the fresh air, and connect with my colleagues who are in the same spot as me! 👗 What do YOUR duty spots look like? I recorded episode 28 as a reflection of the sessi I recorded episode 28 as a reflection of the session I attended at ACTFL by Abelardo Almazán-Vázquez who presented Reflections and Testimonies on the use of Inclusive Language in the Spanish Classroom. 🔥 I am grateful for his work and for his comments at the end, expressing that this is not just IMPORTANT work but URGENT. Creating spaces where all gender identities are honored, celebrated, empowered, and lifted up, is URGENT work. 🏳️‍🌈 I am grateful for the work that Abelardo does and the countless other people I learn from on a weekly basis on this platform and others.
